Wilson Electronics’ Sleek was designed to improve the reception of mobile phones while driving. This product looks just like any in-car holder but contains an amplifier to boost your handset’s mobile signal. An antenna, meant to be stuck outside the car, attaches to the base of the holder, while a mini-USB port powers the Sleek cradle. This product will be useful for those who travel often and for long distances in their car. It costs US$129 and will be available next month. The bad news is that it works only for US GSM frequencies.

The YoGen charger is designed to solve that problem as it requires only your hand action to juice up a portable device. The idea is simple: Just plug in a device like a mobile phone or iPod and start pulling on the YoGen’s string. This causes a disc in the body to rotate, which generates electric power for your device. According to the company, 1 minute of pulling is equivalent to 1 minute you charge through an AC charger. So technically, if it takes an hour to fully charge your battery. Pulling for 1 hour will do the job, too.
