Archipod: Backyard home office in a pod
Posted by admin in ipod docks on February 8, 2010

There’s nothing wrong with wanting your sanctuary to take the form of a futuristic pod. But you have to be willing to find one that doesn’t disrupt your back yard’s harmony with nature. The Archipod, like a coconut, is smooth and white on the inside and brown and rugged on the outside. Created in the UK, the Archipod was conceived out of “frustration at the commuting lifestyle, with its attendant road congestion, air and noise pollution, road rage, running costs and time loss”. Indeed, if you’re looking for a home office that will make you feel like you’re several light-years away from modern society and its discontents, head over to Archipod’s Web site and prepare to open the pod bay doors.
Armatix pistol

Armatix debuted a pistol that requires the help and proximity of a basic digital sports watch at the Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade show in Las Vegas. (SHOT, for short. That’s too clever that it’s downright scary.) According to Wired, the German-based company’s .22 cal plinker can only fire when in close proximity to the digital watch. To release the extra safety, the watch sends a wireless signal to the gun, at which point a green LED light will light up on the back of the gun (see photo above). (I also hope the watch can tell time.)
Baby Androids

The original T-Mobile G1 or the brand-new Nexus One. But putting up a poster of your phone is probably a little weird. Why not purchase an adorable Android mini collectible and display that instead? This series of vinyl Android toys is made by artist Andrew Bell, and there are 12 different Android designs packed in blind-boxed cases of 16. Each mini Android is 3-inches tall and has arms and head that rotate. Dyzplastic will offer them later this month as well as specialty retailers.
