Avatar 3D Blu-ray

The 3D TV hubub at CES roughly coincided with Avatar, the highest grossing theatrical release of all time, hitting theaters in 3D. But according to director James Cameron, that Blu-ray won’t appear until November.

acam_500x390
3D video cameras become mainstream. Panasonic has already shown a twin-lens 3D videocam at the tradeshow, but it looks like competition is hot on its heels. Swedish company Ikonoskop recently unveiled the A-cam3D, a dual optics camcorder capable of delivering 1080p-quality clips. The Web site didn’t list detailed specifications, except that the shooter records two images at 1,920 x 1,080 resolution in DNG format and color depth is rated at 12-bit. The A-cam3D is able to record in both 25 and 30 frames-per-second speed.
