Bulletproof luxury car

Hyundai have just launched their most luxurious vehicle yet, called the Equus Stretch Limousine. Available first in South Korea, this Equus is the largest and most expensive vehicle in the Hyundai line-up.
Because limos are all about comfort and convenience, this sleek Equus has had its wheelbase stretched to a massive 11.8-inches, bringing in the total length to 215-inches, longer than its major competitors, the BMW 7-series and Mercedes S-class. This gives more backseat legroom which features the world’s first power-driven footrest, seat leg support, relax posture control and a massage system.
Under the bonnet of this two tonne cruiser is a choice of the Lambda 3.8 litre 6-cylinder or the Tau 5.0-litre V8, with the latter delivering a huge 400bhp and 500Nm of torque, and which makes it the most powerful engine ever built for a Hyundai production car.
Another interesting fact about this boat on wheels is that it’s available in a bulletproof version, and three of these have been delivered to the Blue House, South Korea’s presidential residence. Hyundai are the first Korean company to develop a bulletproof car with its own technology.
The Equus is primarily aimed at the Korean market and is expected to cost in the region of £70,000, and although it’s unlikely to reach as far as UK shores, Hyundai have said that other markets are currently being considered, so you never know…
