Fujifilm’s 3D Printer System
The FinePix Real 3D W1 camera, possibly the world’s first consumer-oriented 3D point-and-shoot. It was accompanied by a 3D viewer. The catch was, if you wanted to print these 3D pictures, you had to send the images back to Fujifilm. But on Tuesday, the firm announced the 3D Print System, a machine that outputs 3D photographs. The 3D Print System utilizes thermal sublimation printing techniques and imprints on lenticular sheets of four sizes ranging from 4 x 6 inches to 6 x 9 inches. There are also custom templates which you can choose as a border for your shots. It takes about 90 seconds to churn out a 5 x 7-inch print. According to Fujifilm, the 3D Print System should be available by the second quarter of this year, with pricing available closer to launch. But given that this printer weighs 50kg, we don’t think it’s designed for home use.

SCX-4500 and ML-1630
The ML-1630 and the SCX-4500 include button-less touch-sensor panels that reduce the user interface. Plus audible alerts and blue LED scan-process indicators ensure that the devices are extremely user-friendly.
‘Among electronic products, printers are very complex and sophisticated,’ said Jun Won Bae, Senior Designer, at Digital Printing Division of Samsung Electronics. ‘In turn, we wanted to create a printer with a simple exterior design that would serve as a counterbalance to its interior complexity.’
‘Samsung has taken the printer – which is often considered as an add-on device – to an entirely new level of artistic refinement,’ Lee added. ‘These days, consumers are looking for products that are not only functional, but that also reflect their own personal styles.’
Samsung’s new printers will available at Apple Retail Stores and apple.com. MSRP is $299 for the SCX-4500 and $199 for the ML-1630.
Dell’s world’s fastest laser color printer
Here is about the world’s fastest laser color printer, Dell announced last Tuesday the launch of three new workgroup printers, including what it says is the world’s fastest single-function letter-size color laser printer. The 5130cdn has a rated print speed of up to 47 single-side and 37.6 double-side LTR pages per minute, in both monochrome and color. ColorByDell tech supplies improved color saturation and image sharpness, the company says.
