A matter of time for Blu-ray 3D recorders to appear, but it seems like Panasonic is already raring to go with its Diga DMR-BWT3000. Before we delve into the details, it’s worth noting that the 3D mode is supported only in Blu-ray playback, though this kit sports a voluminous 2TB hard drive that records up to 254 hours of HD footage. Besides the usual digital TV tuners and networking functions found in most Japanese DVRs, there’re a few more unique features in this Panasonic model worth highlighting. First, there’s the “Jump Link Room” function based on an optional Wi-Fi dongle, which allows recorded videos and photos to be wirelessly shared within a household with compatible equipment. Then there’s the latest SDXC card slot compatible with high-capacity 64GB media for playing back HD clips, as well as dual HDMI outputs. Lastly, the DMR-BWT3000 offers an “Animation Mode” and “Sound Mode Tube” tuned for anime and to recreate warmish vacuum tube audio quality, respectively.
