The in-ears are the latest addition to the Beats by Dr. Dre headphone family from Monster. What struck us most was its daring triangular design, as opposed to the standard square-ish or round-ish shapes of most standard headphones. At this time, the basic model is available in Singapore only, with version in other colors and the ControlTalk (headset) feature to be launched only next year. Heartbeats by Lady Gaga retails for S$240 (US$172.27) at major audio equipment stores island-wide. In our brief hands-on, we found these ‘buds to have very good and thumpy bass with a rather sharp high note response. We’ll be giving these ‘cans a thorough review when we get our hands on a test pair. The only fault we felt during the brief test with these headphones was that a small corner of the housing kept pressing on the cartilage of our ears. That said, its flat cable design is great at warding off the usual wire-tangling issues.
